Under the Same Sky

Sri Lanka holds beauty with visible seams. Daily life unfolds against not so distant histories of civil war, tsunami, and now rapid tourism. Healing is slow; it appears in small gestures, in color, in repetition, in prayers, in hope.

But with that tenderness sits fragility: cracked walls, fallen blossoms, a roof weighed down by stones, scars traced across skin. An eerie darkness always at arms length with fear of what may come next.

These photographs linger between reverence and unease—where beauty persists, trauma remains close to the surface, and change arrives unevenly. It is the quiet dignity of a place learning how to live forward while carrying what it cannot set down.
